There is always talk about how advanced Chile is in many aspects, economically, in tourism, etc, and within all this is also included our health system, they say it is "the best in Latin America" and an example to follow, but is it really so? Here I will expose my opinion about the Chilean health system and why I think it is a very bad example of how to treat people's health.
The main reason why I consider that the Chilean health system is very bad is precisely the segregation it causes, since most of the time the most difficult treatments are expensive, probably not inefficient in itself, but if common people can not access it, what good is it then ? Not to mention that (FONASA) public health system is incredibly slow, causing hundreds of people to die waiting for a transplant or treatment. That is why it is necessary to invest much more money in this area.
In conclusion the slowness of the public sector makes it very difficult to be treated in Chile, and as I said before it is necessary to talk about this and demand a greater investment so that so many people stop dying.
A lot of people say that Chile is the best. I can't imagine how bad must be the health system in other latin american countries :(
ResponderEliminarI think that probably the others countries believe that we have one of the best medical systems it´s because they take the private health systems into greater account. :C
ResponderEliminardoctors are always in short supply, especially in places far from the cities.segregation is economic but also territorial
ResponderEliminarI also think that, people with chronic illnesses who do not live in the capital have a much more difficult time.
